Teen birth rates have hit a record low, falling nine percent since 2015. Pregnancies among women between 15 to 19 years old, declined by 65 percent over the last two decades, the National Center for Health Statistics said. To collect the data, researchers obtained birth certificates for 2016. And since 1991, the rate among teens decreased by nearly two thirds.
The coronavirus pandemic seems to have affected many people's plans to have children. Over the past year, Italy has seen a significant drop in its birth rate - with numbers reaching their lowest in over a century.

A world-first Australian program claims to be reversing the rates of premature births across the country. The federally-funded 'Every Week Counts' program says its work has seen an estimated 4,000 babies prevented from being born too early since 2021.
