Sara Hopkins - Morning
Wake up
your limbs are noticed
right away
they make you concrete
and encased.

Wake up
your feet take you
to the bathroom. A few more steps,
your disillusion
hangs on by threads.

Wake up
the light,
the noise,
Oh, clumsy
you. Clattering
and clinking
so early.

Wake up
tiles in the bathroom turn
to tiles in the station
and shoes and shirts and ties
clamber on.

Wake up
and then some, and then
some,
and then

you're a loud one, you are
thrust
into the jumping present.

Sara Hopkins

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/morning-186/
