Oh how comical my life must be, <br />A story of retrogression. <br />To climb out of fear, ladder breaking, <br />Then fall into depression. <br /> <br />Oh how one can meet thy soul, <br />Once over, then over again, <br />When a life is in the balance, <br />As if in a lion’s den. <br /> <br />Oh how a Hypophreniac, <br />Without a reason to gloat, <br />Now has a worse reason, <br />To slit thy own throat. <br /> <br />Oh how life can demonstrate, <br />A concept so easily perceived, <br />About how one is powerless, <br />And with faith, can be deceived. <br /> <br />Oh how such an undeserving one, <br />Can be cable of murdering thyself, <br />With harsh words of false hope, <br />With your mind tucked on a shelf. <br /> <br />Oh how the universe can say, <br />“You’re safe” and break your shell, <br />Then like a demonic beast, <br />Tear you back down to hell. <br /> <br />Oh how life can control thyself, <br />And hold you under repression. <br />Oh how comical my life must be, <br />A story of retrogression.<br /><br />Katie Doty<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/oh-how/
